Masvingo VI Neue Ideen/ New ideas

Alington Matsilele, unser einheimischer Leiter in Simbabwe, ist seit Januar Schulleiter an einer großen Highschool in Masvingo Town. Die Schule liegt in Mucheke, einem sehr alten und armen Bezirk der Stadt. Die Schule hat u.a. viele Räume, die für handwerklichen Unterricht, wie schneidern, tischlern, kochen und Metallarbeiten vorgesehen sind. Viele der Werkzeuge und Geräte sind kaputt, weil die Schule kein Geld für Ausstattung und Reparaturen bekommt. Der Unterricht läuft eher auf Schmalspur und theoretisch ab.

Da aber die Räume existieren, ist bei Alington Matsilele die Überlegung entstanden, ob man dort nach und nach einzelne Ausbildungsangebote, sogenannte Hexco- Programme am Nachmittag und Abend für abgegangene Schüler und Erwachsene für wenig Geld anbieten könnte. Hexco- Programme sind Kurzausbildungen über  maximal ein Jahr. Am Ende schließt man mit einer Prüfung ab und erhält ein Zertifikat. Viele Lehrer verdienen sich damit etwas dazu.

Was das für uns in Deutschland bedeuten würde, wissen wir noch nicht. Wir warten jetzt auf einen Konzeptvorschlag und beten fleißig, was Gott sich dazu vorstellt. Uns beeindruckt das unermüdliche Streben nach einer Entwicklung im Land.

Schon lange liegt uns das Thema Ausbildung am Herzen. Mit dem Agragrtraining haben wir erfolgreich einen ersten Schritt in diese Richtung getan. Wir werden schauen, welche Türen Gott noch öffnen möchte.

Alington Matsilele, our local principal in Zimbabwe, has been the principal of a large high school in Masvingo Town since January. The school is located in Mucheke, a very old and poor district of the city. The school has, among other things, many rooms that are intended for handicraft lessons, such as tailoring, carpentry, cooking and metalwork. Many of the tools and equipment are broken because the school does not get any money for equipment and repairs. The lessons are rather narrow gauge and theoretical. However, since the rooms exist, Alington Matsilele has come to the fore to consider whether individual training offers, so called Hexco programs in the afternoon and evening for students and adults who have left, could be offered there for little money.

Hexco programs are short- term training courses lasting a maximum of one year. At the end, you conclude with an exam and receive a certificate. Many teachers earn some extra money with it. We don't yet know what that would mean for us in Germany. We are now waiting for a concept proposal and are diligently praying what God has in mind. We are impressed by the tireless pursuit of development in the country.

The topic of training has been close to our hearts for a long time. With the agrar training, we have successfully taken a first step in this direction. We will see which doors God still wants to open.
